Migros Golf - Otelfingen

We are moving to Switzerland in July and we have got weekday membership at Otelfingen Migros Golf.

Does anyone play here ? Is there a good ladies group that plays ?

I don't speak German (yet) and was hoping to meet up with some English speaking women to play with.

I don't play there (or anywhere as yet, on my list of things to sort is a golf club) but it's only 20 minutes from me and I'm currently available to play mid-week.

You may also want to check out www.golf4fun.ch an expat golf society which I'm told has a number of female members who can play mid-week.

Happy to play anytime, when I am playing close to my normal standard then I am a 13 handicap but my golf is a bit shaky at the moment, oh and I'm not female but happen to be a trailing spouse.

Ooh thank for that link - I just signed up !!

I dream of being a 13 handicap !! I'm at 31 at the moment. I've been playing for 6 years on and off...... I'm looking forward to playing a lot more !!

The Golf4Fun expat golf goup is heading to Otelfingen next thursday. We have t-time booked at 17:42 which is all I have reserved based on those who registered so far. If you want to book yourself (044 846 6800) and meet for a beer afterwards, just drop me a message on here

Hello there...

Im very interested in your comments. I played golf in New Zealand for 6 years and i really want to get back into it .

Whats the best way to go about it? I dont really want to do a course and i think its a waste of time .

Can somebody please tell me whats the best way to go about it

Thankyou

The Golf4Fun society run an afterwork training session every Tuesday at GOlf Point Urdorf, costs 30€ runs from 18:30 to 20:30 includes free balls and coaching from a PGA pro .... has done some good things for my game in just 2 sessions.

Also check out the Golf4fun website

Thankyou for your help...

But do you have to do a course to play in Switzerland?

I think if you can show evidence of a handicap from a previous club then I think you are ok

Oh ok...

Thankyou again for our help

Hello...

Ive asked my golf club in New Zealand for a letter for my handicap. Which has been succesful and a golf club in Switzerland has said its on there file.

I want to join up with migros and play golf at there different courses. How does this handicap work? Do i have to join up with a handicap manager or how does this work. As im sure if i join up to one club it will cost an arm and a leg

Easy Tiger, I have all the infos you need.

First question. Do you still have an official h'cap from NZ?

just take the letter from the golf club in NZ to the migros course. show them the letter and will enter you in the system. once you are in you will be able to play and all the micros courses. you dont have to join anything although the hcp you submit will never change. its just proof that you can actually play.

The other deal talking about hitting golf balls with a teaching pro looks like a really good deal though and something you dont have to do but would surely be a help in moving forward. I've just started keeping my scores on paper and calculating my own hcp according to usga rules. there are also a number of websites you can join for a small fee (under 30 bucks a year) where you can enter scores and track your score.

I play at migros golf park holzhausern regularly.

Its the same for any other course as well, not just Migros ones - just present the letter when paying your green fees for the round and you will be accepted (providing the club accepts guests of course).

I'm looking forward to joining you guys but I don't arrive until the 1st July and will have to what until my clubs arrive in the shipment !!

You can rent clubs at a lot of places here, so theoritically you don't have to wait for them

I'm sure you can but I don't have a 'first born' to trade it !!

I'm planning to put them in my air shipment but will still be restricted until my car arrives !! hubby will be taking the hire car to get to the office....

I've sent my golf clothes over in the last suitcase we took so I am halfway there !!

Depending where you are located you may be able to get a ride with someone
