Thanx for this,I appreciate it..but I just said that(which doesn't represent anything aggressive) in answer to"why complaint on a forum"? if people stioll talk about it...there is interest..or not? that's it..
You're guessing,man...it's ok,not a problem,I don't feel like i have to justify myself with you..the whole Sentence was about having Alcohol sent Home, and i said "not a Problem",cause I speak german and I can go anywhere else and ask for it,whenever I'd like to drink some wine,or beer, you got it now?
Ah well, I have learnt the hard way that if you stick to the facts, even if they're solid and proven beyond reasonable doubt, you just get groaned and get negative rep. It's verboten to tell the truth on the EF. If you write a straight joke, even if it's clean and politically correct, people groan you and send negative rep. It's verboten to laugh on the EF. But if you pull people's legs mercilessly and bait and make fun of them without them noticing, you get thanks and good rep both from those who share your joke and from those who are too dim to see you're making fun of them. So join the club and stop taking the EF too seriously.
When Migros AG started business, owned by Gottlieb Duttweiler, Adèle Duttweiler, his wife made it clear that she would divorce immediately if he started to sell tobacco or alcohol. When he turned his company into a co-operative (maintaining the management) the principle was taken over by the new Migros Co-operative. But it does not apply to franchisees and subsidaries like Globus, Denner, Migrolino, Tegut etc.
To drop the principle was under discussions in the various Co-operatives and the Genossenschaftsbund repeatedly. But the compromise was and is as above. The "Lex Adèle" therefore stays on.
and he loved good wines. Adèle Duttweiler WAS a NON-smoker but DID drink wine. Her experience however was the times when workers after having received the monthly pay straight on went to purchase spirits often not leaving their family enough for breakfast. Her thesis was that there were enough shops selling alcohol.
I think Swiss long term residents see the value that Migros give to their communities, past simply if their products or another's are 10 rappen cheaper, sell this brand or that brand of coffee, or alcohol.
So competition wise, they already own Denner, and you can find most Denner's right around the corner from most Migro's. But I would hardly do all my shopping at a Denner. But they have excellent value on wine's there. And it is worth the trip to go their alone for alcohol.
As far as the 70's comment...hugh?
This goes back to the if it's better in your home country...I mean, back in the the US, I can expect to buy food any time of the day, but, can I also find a job? Much less one that pays anywhere near what I am paid here? And those poor people that have to work midnights, what are they getting paid? And I gaurantee the level of customer satisfaction when I encounter one of these folks at 3am, asking them if they have any travel luggage in the color I prefer, as opposed to what is on the shelf...not exactly bubbly persona.
I just can't understand why some one, can't understand, why all stores do not carry every product imaginable, and open 24/7, and at a cost of that on par with the rest of Australia. Ooops, I meant Europe.
People sell stuff, you buy it or you don't. People also want to have lives, just like you, you either like it, or you don't.
It's not a 70's attitude, it's a family orientated attitude.
