Mobile phone plan Zurich?

We' e just arrived in Zurich. We need to get mobile phones. Just wondering if we are better off getting prepaids or getting a contract? I thought I'd look for suggestions

I suppose again we will have to drag it out of you: what do you want?

Just voice telephone, SMS, MMS, Data (internet)

https://en.comparis.ch/telekommunikation.aspx

http://www.englishforum.ch/search2.php?q=mobile

All of the above. But mainly data and sms

i would always go for prepaid...much more cost efficient.

That, most people overpay mucho with contracts. Plus, prepaid is much more flexible - you can always get a contract if you want, but getting out of one is usually just a tad (coughcough) difficult.

Then buy an ALDI pre paid SIM card https://en.comparis.ch/telecom/mobile/handy-abo-internet.aspx

But the Aldi network is crap, as they use Sunrise. So better to use Migros or Coop.

I used to be on Sunrise and the internet speeds were crap. Now I switched to Salt (former Orange) and getting 20mbps for 4G instead of 0.3mbps...

pretty cheap too at 5 CHF for 200 mb of data each month.

I used to use a dual SIM phone with Aldi (Sunrise) and Coop (Salt/Orange) - always had more connection problems with Coop.

Now I just use the Aldi SIM.

Aldi (Sunrise) offer 500 MB for 9,90 or 1 GB for 14,90

All-in package (Smart 1000) gives 1GB data, 1000 SMS and 1000 minutes of calls, for 27,90 per month (30 days), but only for use within CH.

im on sunrise.

used to be on prepaid, but now im on the mtv contract

45fr/month

unlimited calls to all landlines cellphones etc all over switzerland

5GB of data LTE after i spend that free 3G data, free sms worldwide, 100mb roaming when in 42 countries (useful if you travel)

i find that i was spending about 20fr per 2 weeks on 1Gb data so this contract solution was much better for me.

good luck

Greetings everyone!

I have arrived in Zurich about 2 weeks ago and have been looking for a local mobile phone connection. Lyca is recommended to me by a few people simply because they use SwissCom. Is Lyca a reliable option? Need some help on this please.
