Rant of the day: people who walk around an open plan office with their mobile or the headset from their landline phone and talk loudly to the disturbance of others.
By far the worst culprits are the swinging-dick alpha-male managers who labour under the mistaken belief that it makes them look cool and in charge. But it doesn't - in fact mate it makes you look like a prize plonker!
Today I learned that one such cretin has really bad "schimmel" (mould) all over his house! Really? Does he honestly think than anyone else in the office - or the known universe for that matter - gives a flying ****?
Lol, I had a funny experience with one of my upperlever managers today.
Moronic Manager: So, is this taken care of?
LIB: Yeah, I believe Bobby is handling all the matters pertaining to such and such.
Moronic Manager: No see, that's two things right there..yadayadayada, Bobby for one is an idiot and "you believe"....I'll have to take care of it myself.
Isn't there a study somewhere showing that productivity in open space office drops down to soviet level? Must be. It certainly felt like it (One year in open space tourism office convinced me of it).
My personal pet peeve with mobile phones in open plan offices is when people go off to meetings and leave their phone behind, only for it to ring incessantly with some stupid ring tone that might have been funny for about 5 seconds. If you are thinking of changing your ring tone to something humorous, DON'T!
