More Swiss men opt for vasectomy

I believe the fertility rate of men who prefer Jockeys over Boxers is lower because of the constant warming of the testicules. They aren’t on the outside of the body for nothing.

Heated car seats probably don’t help either.

And then there is an array of viruses that permanently solve the problem.

If underwear can kill sperm, I just wonder how children are born in places with hot climates. Maybe they come from Mars.

Gents, humans have ways to regulate body temperature. There’s a core temperature at which we start to sweat to cool down. There’s a circulatory system that can either adapt to physical work or hot temperatures to cool your body properly.

If a sauna, jockeys or heated car seat have a relevant effect…something is broken in the body because the capacity to cool down is not working properly.

Fertility isn’t binary, heat just reduces the number of viable sperm and probability of conception.

So, no worries. One is enough. The other millions are there for redundancy.

Or as they say…second place is the first loser.

Who knows, maybe nature has a way of using this info. Maybe in a hot climate, certain sperm are more adapted for this and the resulting baby has certain adaptations for a hot climate?

Phil, for speculating, please hop back on the stock trading topic.

This cord cutting topic here is exclusively for scientific discussions.

They should give some incentives for not having children. Like a box of chocolates or something like that.

Those without children don’t need to be given chocolates.

I’d prefer champagne or something like a nice holiday for not adding to the global population :slightly_smiling_face:

I had the same feelings. I will be 64 in a few weeks, my wife walked out on me last summer & the women who seem most interested in me are around 40 & desperate for a first or second baby. None ever have asked if I had a vasectomy!

First, I’m sorry to hear that.

Second, go have a kid then, it will give you something to do and will be a nice change  I’m sure you’ve done pretty much everything a childless man would want to do, you wouldn’t want to leave the planet without having experience fatherhood now, would you?

If it is a terrible mistake, with normal life expectancy, you just need to deal with it for 20 years or so

Jeez, Phil, love ya’, but really :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:? Fatman, tell them you’ve already put all your assets in trust for charity, and let’s see who sticks around?

Apparently bringing up a kid costs around 250KCHF each, so invest it / spend it wisely.

250chf? A bargain! The cats cost us more than that per year.

Sorry, meant 250K, corrected

I remember a Swiss newspaper calculate around a million a few years back.

Maybe gold-coast kids  But probably by now closer to 500K between birth and Uni (if they get that far).
