Just came across an article over internet which mentioned of a Morning Banana Diet which left Japan with a shortage of Bananas in 2008.

Has anyone heard of it and or tried it??

There's one born every minute. You don't take protein shakes as well do you?

In answer to your question, no - it doesn't work. At least not for me.

If I'm going for a run when I get up, I have a banana. If I'm going for a really long run then I'll eat two bananas.

I then run up and down hills so for four to five hours and do not lose weight (apart from that due to a bit of dehydration on a hot day).

I guess if you stuffed the banana in your mouth whole without peeling it and kept it in there all day then that might limit your eating.

I've never heard of the diet, but a banana is usually what I eat for breakfast anyway and it kept me sustained during my weight loss and maintaining my ideal weight, so for what it's worth it "works". That said, I've never really been a breakfast person (just a tea or small snack), I hate starting the day on a full stomach, but once I started working out more I needed some food in my body in the morning and a banana is a quick meal that ticks all the boxes (rich in sugar, vitamins, and has some protein). So I eat one, along with some probiotics, vitamins, and Omega oils almost every morning.

What needs to be pointed out is that this happened as a natural evolution of me listening to my body and giving it what it wanted. This tends to fly in the face of fad diets, which usually fail because it's people forcing themselves to do something they don't naturally want to. It wouldn't surprise me if most people who get on this diet don't even like bananas that much. If you're a big breakfast person who must have his cereal, fried eggs, and bacon, don't even bother.

From the Wiki page:

Rules of Banana Diet

1. You do not talk about banana diet*

* Not really, and I'm sure my edit will be rejected.

"rich in protein...."

False......the protein content of a banana is close to nothing.

It's a fake.

Bananas are high packed carb food.

Bla bla bla.....how many threads are there about what to eat and about what not to eat?

Nuff now....ok?

1 gram, man, don't hate.

The protein-carb ratio is close to 1:25 so calling a banana "rich in protein" would not be correct.....

No hate...just love.....if we stick to facts

Yeah, I fixed it in my original post, thanks.
