Last summer started motocross and frankly said got hooked up with it. As just came to Switzerland want to understand how complicated would be to practice this hobby over here? As I heard there are just certain dates and times when it is possible to ride on the tracks, is this really true? Are there any clubs/facilities where it is possible to store/maintain the bike next to track or you actually have to buy a trailer and separate storage place for this? Can somebody share some related links? Would appreciate to get in touch with somebody who is practicing motocross on Hobby level over here.
There are only 9, some of them cost money but generally have better facilities, and one of them is members only. I don't know how good your german is, but you should be able to gleam the dates and times out of that page. On that page there are also links to pages for tracks in Germany and France, a few of which aren't too far from Switzerland.
I used to ride in Canada, mainly enduro or singletrack, which I sorely missed after moving here. That kind of riding is all but impossible here (legally at least). I considered doing motocross here, but it's not really my thing and the lack of facilities really killed any hope I had. I took up mountain biking instead, which is also fun and I can do any place at any time.
If you're dedicated, you can still make motocross work here and have fun.
