Motorcycle insurance

Hi All,

I am looking for a competitive offer for motorcycle insurance.

Comparis doesn't really help because I only get results from Axa (which are actually quite competitive). Also Mobiliar looks good so far.

Does anyone know a better one?

I did try Allianz24, Zurich Connect, Generali but they are more expensive.

Insurance rates are based on lots of factors, including where you live, how old you are, how long you've been licensed, what kind of bike you own, which options you want, etc.

There is no one insurance company that is always the cheapest. You need to decide what coverage you want and what companies you feel comfortable dealing with, then shop around for the best price.

In my case, when I first insured by bike (in 2004), I was paying about 1000 per year for full coverage. Last year, I "downgraded" my coverage to partial comprehensive, since my bike is now 7 years old. As a result, I'm now paying about 650 per year.

Would have suggested Axa and Zurich Connect..

After 4 or 5 quotes I think you've hit the buffers.

I agree.

I paid 3000 CHF for the bike so I think only partial comprehensive makes sense.

Also, I have found out that some insurers use the date of your oldest driving license (A or B) where others use the date of the A license.

Offers have varied so far from about 300 CHF to 1000 CHF.

You really don't need partial on such a bike.

I have Axa.

Tom

Without partial, Axa is only 150 CHF.

Looks to be the one to beat

Refreshing this.

Any recent insight, is Axa still as affordable?

I have Zurich insurance for my car (Golf Gti) and I pay around 1300 CHF per year for full coverage. I think that is couple of hundreds too much but seems like I am stuck with that for a year.

For the bike to come I will also ask their offer just out of curiosity and in order to get some pleasure when turning them down

I pay about 150 for a 652cc bike & 220 for a 955cc bike third party with Zurich arranged with Saint7uk.

Was quoted 120chf (ish) for a 300c motorbike 3rd party and 580chf fully comp (brand new bike worth 7k+1k extras.) with Axa.

When I took out the policy April '13, Axa were the cheapest for me and when I checked in November they still were. That said I'd always ring around cos you never know

We have Zurich for 350CHF on an 800cc Honda VFR.
