Any ideas (near Geneva)?
I was hoping to rent a car and go for a scenic drive into the mountains. I don't really care WHICH mountains really, I just want to get some nice photos.
Towards St. Cergue? It's pretty close...
1. la Dole (exit in Coppet, then take route la Rippe).
2. Saleve (you can drive up via Monnetier or la Coin)
3. Drive up at Col de la Faucille (France) and end up in St. Cergue (Suisse).
go to the top of the saleve, not a very long drive, but on a good day you will get great pictures of the alps..
I've done the Saleve thing, I was hoping for more of a day trip. Or even a 2 day drive.
Route des montagnes leading to Col de Marchairuz. It's beautiful
What about Verbier/Martigny way? Beautiful and you might like a hike?
A nice round trip is down to Chamonix. Head up the Aiguille du Midi for lunch and walk across to the Glacier if you have time. Continue up the valley and down into Martigny and back around to Geneva. Its a long day - but well worth it. If you have a second day - do some exploring in the Valais/Vaud - Verbier, Champex, Crans Montana, Leysin.
