Winter is on it's way, the evenings are getting longer I'm in need to of some good movies to watch. Over the last 4/5 years haven't had much time to watch movies like I use to do and cinema visits are rare(my son is 4). Recently I dug out the Godfather movies, Goodfellas, Star wars, Matrix and watch them again but when it comes to good movies that have been recently made I'm sadly ignorant. Any Movies/films you've seen that you would recommend?
If you like fantasy and fiction movies I would recommend from my side: '' The Lord of the Ring'' trilogy and perhaps Harry Potter. Then my favourite would be Marvel Comics group action hero movies sequels e.g. Batman, Spiderman, Superman, X-Man, Fantastic 4, Hellboy... just to name a few.
While I liked both movies well enough, both Mr Day Lewis's characters were too similar, I thought.
'No Country For Old Men' has an unpredictable plotline, with an unexpectedly creditable performance from Josh Brolin and a lunatically entertaining one from Javier Bardem. (Sorry, too many adverbs/adjectives.)
If you haven't already seen them...go back to some classic Hitchcock movies. See the sublime, radiating Grace Kelly in her prime in Rear Window . Or watch North by Northwest or The Man Who Knew Too Much for some more good suspense/adventure, with Carry Grant and Jimmy Stewart respectively. I think the Hitchcock movies are timeless, and usually thoroughly enjoyed by modern viewers.
If you would like to laugh your brains out I would recommend a comedy "51st state''. It is not a new movie but everytime I watch it it makes me chuckle a lot
Ok Brilliant action movie is XXX (i just love Vin Diesel , and in this film he is fantastic).
Horror The Chainsaw Massacre
Love kind of (not many people can watch this i have lent it out to friends who wanted to watch it, and they have given it me back saying they could not watch, but it is a brilliant film) Brokeback Mountain.
Then you're just slightly madder then me, I'm at 170+ plus a couple of dozen I've downloaded via Limewire. Actually I prefer to buy the movies rather than to download them because with the DVDs you get all the extra stuff like out takes and making of.
I agree, and i really enjoyed watching the running commentre in Underworld it was really funny, Kate Beckinsale was really really funny, also another good 2 films Underworld 1, and 2.
