Moving countries while facilitated naturalisation is in process

I applied for facilitated naturalization as the spouse of a Swiss citizen two months back from Zürich.

Now, I have a job offer outside Switzerland that is too good to pass up. Also, considering that it has been a struggle to find a job inside CH, this looks even more appealing. My husband is Swiss and we have been married for 15 years so we can apply again from abroad.

My question is: what happens if I take up the job and we leave Switzerland? Do we have to start the process again from abroad? Has anyone gone through such a process? Any inputs are very welcome, thanks!

How far will new job be? Personally, I would not move at the mo until you get your nationality. If job in Europe- why not keep your flat, insurance and address here until then? Not sure how this would work for taxes, etc, though.

Careful - the Schweizermacher will be observing the residence night and day.

It may well be possible for you to continue pursuing your facilitated naturalisation while living abroad provided certain conditions are met.

yes, a joke, and yet ... depending on neighbours and locality, could be an issue- as it is the Gemeinde/Commune, who have the last say.

Hi,

My experience is very similar to yours. I started my application process while living in CH (a facilitated naturalisation) and moved abroad due to a job change. As far as I can tell, the first effect of this move is that it made the application process longer. But, as my process is still going on, I don't know how it will affect the final outcome.

Surely, you can keep your apartment, keep on paying AHV and medical insurance. That way you maintain residency and keep on cracking with the application process. I guess you will have to come back and forth every few weeks or so to show some kind of presence.
