Moving family to Switzerland

Hi All,

I couldn't find better category for this question and since it's related to household move, I decided to place it here...

Myself and my wife decided to move totally to Switzerland quite recently. Since myself have been in CH for over 3 years I'm thinking how in most efficient way (and cost effective) make the move... Since we're coming from Poland there is only about 1000km one way (which I was doing quite often before the decision was taken). Since my wife is going to be new to Switzerland I was thinking to use that and move our all stuff to Switzerland.

I'm thinking about renting a VAN or bus up to 3,5T and move it to Switzerland. All would be fine, but there is quite many things that overall price is above 1k CHF i.e. 2x couch, wooden kitchen table + chairs, TV 60", wardrobe, wooden bed and etc. All looks good but I'm a but lost with:

1. Do I need to inform Swiss government in advance about moving my stuff into Switzerland?

2. What kind of documents I should have while crossing the boarder?

3. Do I need any special kind of vignette while making the transportation as part of my private transport (not commercial transportation)?

Any suggestions, advice highly welcome!

You need to fill in this form beforehand and get it stamped by customs whren you enter Switzerland.

I've done it form the U.K with a lorry.. It was pretty straightforward.
