Moving Out cleaning

Hi

I am due to vacate my apartment in March and I need to get in a cleaner to do a final clean (as I understand thats what needs to be done here to ensure you get your deposit back) and I have looked online for companies but I have no experience with this so I was wondering if anyone had used a company before they would recommend? and any that I should avoid?

Hi

We used John Shepard at Diamond Cleaning in Zurich. Would totally recommend him, efficient, good price, cleaning guaranteed. Did a fantastic job and our rental agency were very pleased as we were.

Would use again if we needed too.

I appreciate you suggesting we google, but the reason I asked the question in the first place wasn't because I don't know how to use google, its because I was asking for recommendations....there are loads of company online but who knows if they are any good....and at their prices I'd much rather have someone who has a good reputation than risking nearly 1000CHF and still loosing some deposit!

Good to know you can use Google - but once someone has recommended a name and a city, surely you can google that and not rely on them to come back with a link?

We just need to get you familiar with multi-quoting, now.

Another note, he did a excellent job, we got our whole deposit back, he guaranteed the cleaning and was there for the hand over. We had a 4.5 room apartment approximately 1,000 chf. Hope that helps you all.

If you rent from an agency, you may ask them to arrange one for you. We did this with Wincasa when we moved out 2 years ago and paid 600-700CHF for a 3.5 apartment in Basel. It was much easier during the handover too. We got the full deposit back within a month.

I can also recommend to ask your landlord for a cleaning list to give to the cleaning company as different apartments have different rules.

I can recommend to use a cleaning company with "Abgabegarantie". Which means, when you make your tour with the landlord / agency, they will be there. If something is not OK, they will (normally instantly) clean this part.

Hiring a cleaning company is a very comfort way to move out. But it's also no problem to clean by yourself. I've cleaned two flat's until now by myself, and I never had problems with moving out. The only reason i lost some part of the deposit is because of the cigarette smoke.

Actually, they aren't even allowed to take the deposit directly (if not issued by the "Betreibungsamt"). But using the deposit money is normally easier for you and for the agency :-)

Maybe get a quote from them?

I had the same issue and I only moved in OCT and had to vacate in Jan due to changes. I called at least 6 companies and they all started with 1000 CHF but reduced it to 600-500 when I bargained and they saw how clean the place is. I've contracted with All Blitz as they were the first I called and gave me a reasonable prices and were familiar with the building I live in. Good luck.
