I have been given by the Pension administrator a huge list of formalities that my present company needs to provide in order to move the funds from this Pension Fund in NL to a new one CH (so I don't have bits everywhere).
My company is not really interested to fullfil all this formalities and mentioned that in their case once an employee is exiting the company, the pension fund is either cash or moved to another external pension fund. As simple as that.
My question is, has anyone had the experience to move / recuperate the money from a pension fund in Netherlands?
I wonder whether the Dutch pension fund are just making things difficult or is it really formalities coming from the Dutch Tax Authority.
In theory it is but last year I tried to do it, and they told me that because of the crisis (this is the Dutch pension fund) there was no transferring of pensions outside the country...but you can check directly with your pension funds.
Thanks Angela. I've tried already and what I received was this list of formalities that my company needs to comply/prove to them about their own pension fund, so the NL pension fund can consider to move the money to CH. Problem is that my company is not going to move a finger (and I can't blame them)to provide all this, specially when they just give away the money on their pension when the employee has left.
I suppose it gaves the pension fund a better position if they are managing thousand/million of Eur from plenty of people than if you are constantly giving bits away.
That is a bit weird since when i called my company (ABO or something) they told me they could not just give me the money (I am not Dutch) but they could send it to another pension fund. In my opinion your pension fund company is just fooling you around, I do not know if you are Dutch but maybe getting a native doing the phone calls or your previous HR calling them could help. Good luck!
Haha... that's my feeling as well hence the thread. Just trying to find someone that may confirm that is possible and possibly not that complex as they are trying to make it.
