Moving to Zug, MFK question

Dear all

I will move to Kanton Zug from Kanton Zurich in October. I have a car on my name but it is used by my wife abroad.

My MFK should have had happened a year ago, but I have not been invited yet.

Now if I move and register my car in Zug, will they invite me promptly? Or it is like in Zurich and I will get an invitation later?

Also can I do that I register my car in Zug and take it to TCS next day to do the MFK? (so that I do not need to take the car twice back to CH)

I have never experienced MFK process or changing plates so any tips welcome.

In Bern you would be invited promptly. As it is 12 months overdue I would expect it to be invited promptly as you can expect in any canton.

The TCS will test it if it is before the invitation to a MFK test is issued

You can also take an MFK in any canton, maybe try phoning around for an appointment?

Is your Abgas test up to date, it has to be for the MFK tester.

I did some search on the forum and I understand that you can take it to TCS until you are invited for the official check, but not after.

Am I wrong?

Yes you are correct, TCS will test until the invitation is issued, provided it is in original condition (No extras, or modifications etc)

If you tell TCS in Zurich you are trying to sell the car they might find an early appointment for you

Technische Änderungen wie beispielsweise nicht typengeprüfte Felgen oder die Anbringung von Anhängerkupplungen müssen ebenso beim kantonalen Strassenverkehrsamt vorgeführt bzw. geprüft werden. Nehmen Sie bitte diesbezüglich direkt Kontakt mit Ihrem Zentrum auf.

It's 4 years old for the first test, 3 years for the second, and 2 years for the third and subsequent tests.

Wrong, they will test until the invitation DATE!

I cannot find the German clause " bevor man das Aufgebot" in the French and Italian versions....

Yes, it states "in some cantons".

Where I live, this is NOT the case, and I cannot speak for other cantons!
