Hi,
I'm interested in applying for a Masters related to computer science at University of Zurich. I need to do a PhD afterwards. Can someone familiar with the field suggest me the available options and how to apply. I went through the site but it's quite confusing. Would a MSc. in Informatics be suitable for someone willing to do a PhD in Computer Science later? Or are there better options at UZH?
Thanks in advance for your help
Do you mean the University of Zurich or ETHZ? Because I can’t see that the University of Zurich has a computer science Masters program.
Anyway, this is what ETHZ requires:

UZH does have such an Msc :

Yes it will let you do a PhD. Although the level of German required may be inferred from the fact that they forgot to translate the page to English...
UZH is probably less well regarded than ETH but not a bad university by any means.
However for somebody interested in actually pursuing an academic career and not just being called Dr. So-and-So, ETH might be the better option.
That being said: anyone already in the field and wanting to do a PhD should be able to figure out what is what by themselves...
I suppose that the half translations of the UZH website can be confusing but most of the subpages are in english, the english webpages usually contain links that lead to 404, in this case click back, convert to german, open the link and then revert to the english version again. This always buggered me, some universities have websites that really don't live up to their reputation. On other universities' websites you would immediately find brochures and study regulations for download and the relevant contacts.
I think the studies are in english but comprise a minor study which might be in german.
Anyway here are some contacts:

Indeed, but I guess switching translations to see if the translated website is complete is something only the swiss are used to do.
At UZH they also have a thing called "fast-track" where your master thesis somehow counts towards your PhD research proposal, which can save you a year. It was offered to me after my BSc, so I'm not sure if you can apply for it or if you have to be chosen.
Yep, that also exists at ETH but it is not too easy to get into.
Thank you so much everyone for your help
How hard would it be? I do have a research publication and a first class with a good GPA
