To those mums who are currently using STOKKE baby bed....
surely you know it's the one with oval shape, one bed with flexible size from new born, >6 months and up to 7 years old --Very practical but very expensive
I had bought one for my baby girl 2 years ago and I was happy with everything except that.....
I am expecting a BOY very soon and I always feels that the STOKKE will be 1) a little bit 'crowded' when fluffy are all in there and also 2)a bit narrow if the baby is very 'active' in bed basing on my current observation on the girl and also 3) the presence of 'rail' on one side in the 3rd stage (when the bed is installed to the largest size for kids >3 years) is quite inconvenient for boy/girl when they stretch....
Could any mums who are currently using it (may be eespecially for boy) share your view with me before i make the decision of investing in such an expensive bed again.....
so no one has ever bought a STOKKE bed.......
Sorry, I just never thought that an oval bed for which you have to buy an oval matress and sheets can in any way be called 'practical', especially when you look at its price tag.
So I would say, don't buy a second one. I also bought some expensive and cool things for our firstborn, but went for cheaper alternatives with the second.
As far as Stokke goes, I did splurge on two Tripp-Trapps and that I think was worth it.
Hello,
I recently bought a Stokke crib. I am expecting my first baby shortly.
Here was my thinking:
- I did not believe that the 'Sleepi Junior' bed extension looked very practical, so I did not expect to use the bed beyond age 2-3.
- I have purchased a Moses Basket and stand for when the baby first comes home. I thought that that would be more practical for moving the baby around as we have 2-levels and stairs (The wheeled Stokke Mini will not go up and down stairs)
... So, for the approx. 2-2.5 years that I expect to use the Stokke I decided to buy it on Ricardo second-hand. We paid 500chf, which I thought was perfectly acceptable. (The bed is solid beechwood - providing the last occupant did not chew the rails when he / she was teething, the bed should be in good condition - and the one we bought is)
*Have you considered buying a low to the ground, 'bigger girl bed' for your daughter and using the Stokke for your new baby?
I hope that helps. Good Luck.
