My first Saturday night in Luzern.....

So....

It will be my first Saturday night in Luzern on the 7th of March. My boyfriend and I are 22 years old can anyone recommend where we should go for a fun night out?

Kind regards,

Charde

There are lots of things going on in Luzern. Really depends on what you are into, food, music, theatre etc. This is as good a starting point as any:

I like the look of the Reggae/Northern Soul all nighter on 7th March myself.

I'd start your time in Luzern off with a trip to Billy's. He has a little bar at Lòˆwenstrasse 8, by the Hofkirche (no web site as yet, but is a facebook group! [1]). Billy is a great barman, will introduce you to everyone there and make sure all are welcome. Well worth checking out.

Another good place to check events is http://luzern.usgang.ch/

We will all be at Billys (Legends) on Saturday 7th as a friend Mark has his B'day bash starting there. A good bet for sure! It is No.1 bus from bahnhof to Luzernerhof, (only 2 stops I think)....

Reggae night looks interesting...but my experiences of Emmen and/or Ebikon are limited to the shopping centres which I can't say were very applealing.

Looks like Bar 59 has a night too... http://www.reggae.ch/index.php?modul...=event&id=4944

Ah Luzern is full of great places.I'm sure u will choose something perfect for having fun!

All the best and greetings aus Luzern!:P

Sedel is a bit far out, it used to be a prison, definitely has an undergound feel to it. One for the end of the night.

Bonus for me is that it's actually walking distance back to my flat.

Bar 59 is a great club

I know someone will say it, so I will! Pickwicks !! haha. Definitely more people going there again now though, as for one thing, it is the only no smoking bar in town....I also just got them to get in Cranberry juice....wonders never cease....if only they would trash that frikkin 80's CD now !!

Aside from Pickwicks and Billys, there are other bars in town! Don't limit yourself to expat haunts, not that I'm knocking them.

Other good places,

Bar 58, used to have a real nice ambience, but haven't been there much since the opening of Bar 59

Haifishbar, nice chilled bar

Miguels (for darts)

Metzgerhalle, Rock and punk bar

Frankenstrasse 6, another expat haunt

Pacifico (a lot of people like this one, but it's not my style)

To name but a few, get yourself out and around town, there are some nice suprises.

What's the name of this bar above Starbucks I keep hearing about? Apparently it's rather nice...view and ambience! I went to The Hotel which was very nice, but not exactly "fun"

Bar 59 sounds interesting -- what kind of crowd go there?

Can't remember what it's called, but you take the lift from the lobby all the way up, it's on the right. Really is quite a nice location, but gets busy quickly, should you want a table with a view, or a place by the fire.

Bar 59 has a good crowd I think (at least when I'm there), though I'm at a loss at how to describe crowds. Of course it varies from night to night depending on what's going on, but the Bar itself is quite chilled.
