My hikes, summer of 2010

More rain, so I stayed at home and wrote up my first hike: from the top of the Tignousa finiculaire to Zinal: St-Luc to Zinal, July 18, 2010 . I had done exactly that hike in 2008, but it is certainly worth repeating!

Had a quick hike this morning, almost beating the predicted rain, so I have the whole afternoon to catch up with my blog.

My trip on Saturday from Evolène to Mürren was made interesting by breaking it with a two hour stay in Interlaken, putting my luggage in a locker, and exploring the town. Result is From Evolène to Mürren .

Then wrote up my second St-Luc hike, Chandolin to Illhorn to St-Luc .

Forecast for rain tomorrow, and in any case my aging body needs some time off, so expect more posts tomorrow.

Great to read the reports of your hikes and see the photos. Thanks for posting.

You can read my latest when Mr L gets around to putting the photos onto the track!

Your thread was my inspiration to start this one. I can attest that getting the photos from the camera to "fit for public display" is an arduous task!

A couple of updates:

Sorebois to Zinal has some nice mountain scenery. The North Face Trail is a low elevation hike on a cloudy day (rained on me at the end), minimal views, but still an enjoyable hike. See me crawl through a gate!!

By and large a rainy week in Mürren, gorgeous day today as I leave for Saas Fee. Still was able to get out every day as the rain was more of a cold miserable drizzle than real rain.

Forecast for coming week looks good!

Went out for some early morning "farewell" photos, will post one or two from Saas Fee after selecting and editing.

What the hell, quick photo of morning sun on Breithorn and Grosshorn:

Saas Fee is an excellent place to hike (climb and ski) in my opinion. Have a nice time there

Just added a new post to my blog: Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger in Sun and Clouds .

There are at least a couple of hikes that I think are worth writing up, but my writing energy is low, so don't hold your breaths! I will probably be able to summon the energy to produce another post of selected mountain photos, mainly early morning/evening ones with interesting colors.
