My permit change effect on spouse's dependent permit

Hi,

I will soon change my current permit (Permit B: Ausbildung mit Erwerbstatigkeit) to a normal work B-permit. My question is does my spouse who currently has dependent B permit would also need to change her permit along with me? We just changed our permits this month. From functional point of view nothing will change regarding her permit – i.e. she will still get 1-year dependent b-permit? (Maybe certain number on her permit needs to change?)

No, your partner can keep the one she had and just renew when the time comes.

A tip here - if you both have permanent job offers, mention that in the permit renewal form and request a longer validity like 2-3 years. We got to know about this later into our B permit. Till then we used to apply every year. But now, we have 2-3 years validity and not just 1 year!
