Nespresso coffee machine repair service

We've had a Latissima for five years and I think the heating element has just gone. There's a number to call, which I will use tomorrow but I just wondered if anyone had any idea of how much they charge?

Dunno about here but in the UK the machines are subsidised as they (expect to) make up the money in capsule purchases.

Do check what it would cost to get a new machine in the UK before deciding to repair yours. Of course, you'd need a repair quote first ...

I asked 2-3 weeks ago and they charge 100 chf for the repair. So I just bought a new one with 140 chf and they gave me a voucher for 50 chf to spend on capsules.

I'd be very interested to know when you went?

5 years is a normal life span for a Delonghi machine (I have insider knowledge ) Check out toppreise.ch- that's where we found our new machine for 1/2 the price.

ours died after 5 years, we just bought a new one as it was only 200chf for the model we wanted

To be honest with a 5 year old machine it's probably not economically viable to repair. The repair is likely going to cost a good percentage of a new device, and this will only be for the element - I would imagine that after 5 years the pump is probably not in pristine shape either. So, you get the element replaced, and then a short time later the pump fails, at which point you'll probably be out of pocket for considerably more than it would have cost you had you bought new in the first place.

I basically have a cut off point of around 500chfs. If it cost 500 or less I won't repair outside of warranty, I'll just replace.

I have a poke around inside and work out exactly what's wrong, find out the costs of the spares and then decide whether to fix.

We had a ten year old lamp with a built-in dimmer that cost 300GBP when new.

I ordered a new circuit board from a company in Germany and wired it in - the board cost 20 Euros.

In the days when I had time that's exactly what I would do, but being time poor these days means doing this is no longer viable.

Besides NAT is talking about a Nespresso machine, and there's no way I'll be without my coffee while I try to figure out what's wrong and wait for the part to arrive. Life's too short and coffee is way too important.

I first called the hotline and they told me that if they come and get the machine in order t o repair it, they give you another one temporarily. This was mid November. The repair costs 100chf and after that you get another 6 months guarantee. I had a krupps citiz for 3.5 years.

Then I went to media markt on 19.11 and bought a Turmix machine, brand new model for 143 chf with the 50 chf voucher, but I think all shops give this voucher still. Plus, with the new machine, you always get a selection of all 16 different capsules.

Ten minutes web search (a lot of Chinese sites)

Ten minutes fitting the control module.

Faster than going into town to buy a replacement lamp.

Ours broke last year -the boiler split and a repair wasn't economical but the machine was more than ten years old.

I drank cafetiere coffee for a few months as I couldn't decide what to replace it with. (And I didn't go for a Nespresso machine).

We're back on filter coffee temporarily. (I know very little about coffee and I'm no connisseur - that's why I have a Nespresso machine).

Thanks everyone - excellent advice. We'll get a new one. In the New Year.

I have another question about parts and repairs:

We have a Lattissima en520 machine and need a replacement part for the plastic cover that is directly behind the capsule release lever. I've called Nespresso but they don't have this available as a replacement part.

Any ideas where I might be able to get this from would be greatly appreciated.

You're in the US? This isn't a Nespresso forum. I blame google (and impatience).

Apologize if my post isn't in the right place, I work for a Swiss company and spend quite a bit of time in Zurich. Saw that there was a discussion on a topic for which I had a question and thought I might get a good answer here.

This is the right place, but as your first post didn't say where you needed the parts, and on your post it states you're in the US (from your profile) people wouldn't know how to help you.

Now they do
