The most important point is to see a neurologist as soon as possible as to determine whether it's Neuritis Vestibularis or whether person had a stroke.
Take care
Google is your friend: The Mayo Clinic is usually a good source of information.
Signs and symptoms of inflammation of your inner ear (acute vestibular neuritis) include the sudden onset of intense, constant vertigo that may persist for several days, along with nausea, vomiting and trouble with balance. These symptoms may be so severe that you have to stay in bed. When associated with sudden hearing loss, this condition is called labyrinthitis. Fortunately, vestibular neuritis generally subsides and clears up on its own. But, early medical treatment and vestibular rehabilitation therapy can be helpful in speeding recovery.
There are exercises that may be carried out (rather impressive) to balance the inner ear, if it is Neuritis Vestibularis. The results are rather quick too.
These are done by the doctor in medical environment (office, clinic etc).
Nevertheless a visit to a neuro-paediatrician would be a good idea too, that way you've covered all possibilities.
It's better to collect medical threads in the same place for future searches.
It would be really helpful if the rules could be changed for medical threads to keep them all in the same place.
Please ??
Really..... it's necessary when looking for info or when trying to help people.
If only the medical ones.
Or are you suggesting people just scroll though all the Family/Health posts in case they come across something?
The rules are clear. Although there is no sticky directly in this forum, there is in Education, which was split from here.

If you wish to discuss further, please can you use one of the existing threads in Forum Support.
Exactly !!
Dear Mods, could we keep all medical threads in the same place please ?
Thanks so much
Sorry OP for using this thread.
The holiday season is, in my experience, the worst time to fall ill. Often one's regular doctor is not available, so one visits an emergency department which is already coping with too many patients.
I hope your child makes a full recovery.
