Looks like they finally upgraded the old cumulus mastercard into the new certo mastercard with some nice new features.

Ok but it no longer gives Cumulus points so a different concept not just an upgrade.
The Coop one did the same 2 yrs or so ago.

Yes however, migros is replacing their CC with a new one, same old benefits but with new bank
https://cumulus.migros.ch/de/cumulus-kreditkarte.html less the amount of points one gets outside shopping at migros.
I just got a letter today about the new card. there will be 1% money back in Migros, Coop and SBB and 0,33% money back for other purchases
...what ever that means....
This new credit card has 2 very interesting features:
1) No additional tax on international transactions
2) Possibility to get cash at the Mirgos and 2 times a year internationally for 500 CHF, also free of charge.
Both of the above make me want to switch immediately!
Where does it say there’s no foreign exchange fees? I had a look round the website and couldn’t see it. I would have thought that it would have been shown prominently.
Comparison by Tagesanzeiger of the new Migros CC and Cembra's:

You can finds more details on all the feed here:

and here: https://www.moneyland.ch/en/migros/c...s/cumulus-visa in the cost section of the page.
P.S. has anyone actually applied and got accepted for the Credit Card?
At this link:
https://cumulus.migros.ch/de/cumulus.../vorteile.html
"Keine Fremdwährungsgebühr
Im Ausland bezahlen ohne zusätzliche Gebühr"
No foreign currency fee
Pay abroad without additional fee
Another advantage is the 20k limit Vs 8 of old Cembra Cumulus. Not that I would need that limit ongoing 🤣 but some months when booking flights etc it could be useful.
Do you think they could actually take some kind of fee with an unfavorable exchange rate? I can't find any info on that.
Sure most credit cards do that.
This is pretty standard in their AGB:
Der Umrechnung in die Kartenwährung wird
der Devisenverkaufskurs am Tag der internationalen Verarbeitung der entsprechenden
Transaktion zugrunde gelegt.
The conversion into the card currency is made
the selling rate on the date of international processing of the relevant transaction.
transaction is used as a basis.
The new Migros Card will be a "Visa card" What are your thoughts to this, better or not?
I've yet to see a place where they accept Visa and they don't accept Mastercard or vice versa... The two payment networks are widely accepted.
i keep one of each just in case. it does happen. there was a bust-up with amazon which threatened usage, but it was resolved in the end.
It happened to me some years ago in Thailand, but probably an isolated case.
Surely it'll happen sparingly. But we can probably agree that there's no difference in having one over the other.
If a Cumulus user accepts the Certo card they keep the same card number etc? If they switch to the new Cumulus from Migros, it is a new agreement, card number etc, oder?
If you apply for a new Certo Mastercard, you can choose the three shops at which you'll get 1% cashback.
If you exchange your Cumulus Mastercard, you can't: it's Migros, Coop and SBB/CFF.
