Is there anyway you can still get a European passport?
By the way they are from macedonia :-(
no my parents have american passports .... i wish it was that easyy :-(
Here's hoping someone else on the forum can offer you some more useful advice.
This isn't a gamer forum populated by teens, and some of the folks on this forum are people who work in Human Resources departments at their companies. Do you really think they're going to "encourage" you to put a resumeĢ (CV) across their desk after seeing this sort of typing from you? It's okay to be casual here, it's not okay to type in that sort of way that reads like someone's tired whiney 3yo sounds.
Now, on to the more specifically helpful bit:
If you want to get a job here, decide which part of the country where you'd like to be, and learn the language. Being able to communicate well in German, French or Italian, or amazing, but likely very hard to find classes for outside of Switzerland, Romansch , AND English will go a long way toward increasing how tempting your CV would be for employers here, no matter what field.
Secondly, part of the reason you were asked whether you could get an European passport is because due to Schengen agreements between Switzerland and EU, out of available applicants for any job, Swiss are hired first, EU citizens second (this is where your potential for passport comes in) and everyone else last. Medical Assistants are not a "hard to fill" commodity here. There are some good universities with hospitals attached and it seems from what I have observed, that job tends to be filled by students as an "apprenticeship" type position while they're going to school. So, you have to find some way that they "need" you more than they need a Swiss citizen who took English and one of the local languages in addition to their own in school.
So, decide if you want to be hired based on the skills you already have OR figure out how your skills translate into a different job that may be in more demand here.
Another way you could get in here is through studies. Take a look at what's offered at the universities here to see whether there are courses you are ready for "now" (I believe some are offered in English? ) and apply for those schools. UNLESS you have a 4+yr degree, chances are slim that your degree will "translate" into anything that will make you hireable here, just like the US wanting folks to get US degrees and certifications for folks working there, Swiss regulations require Swiss certifications and degrees as well. So, coming out of a school HERE will help provide that step closer to getting a job and a gainful life here.
Good luck!
So being an American Yugoslavian will make it harder for you to get in imho.
Since you have no degree I would suggest coming here on a University Program to study if you can. With out it? I think you dont have much of a chance unless you marry a local.
But this is a topic for a different thread.
None of my Albanian, or Serbian friends have a problem with that term. And every Yugo I have ever played basketball with (in college and pro) use that term to describe themselves. Sorry Big Tom, but you need to actually meet some of these people some day. They dont take stuff like that personal.
The local Gemeinde told me that stat along with the fact that out of the 8 rapes committed in CH in the last decade 4 have been gang rapes by African immigrants. This is part of their immigration speech when you are applying for citizenship (which I am in the process of doing).
Dont think my Gmnde is SVP though.... They are all Yugos who work there!!!!!!
