I bought a sofa online about 18 months ago but I am not happy with it as I find it too soft. This is the model that I got:

It has a lot of good reviews but I have given up on ever being satisified with it and am now looking for another model. This time I am willing to pay uo to treble the price to get something really good.
Does anyone have any suggestions / recommendations?
Go and have a look at Schubiger showrooms (if you live close to one), thats where I got mine. Otherwise, IKEA is better than Home24 so go look there too.
Definitely don't buy online!
This is the right answer, a couch is such a personal thing that you need to place your arse on as many as possible until you find the right one.
I for one like a firm couch with higher armrests. I ended up with an Ikea Stockholm after trying every store in my locality.
I will try going to an IKEA store. I bought at the height of the pandemic and didn ́t want to spend time visiting sofa stores.
If you want to plonk your behind in a 3 year old one for comparison, you're welcome to give me a shout.
When shopping around we were seriously unimpressed with the quality of the materials used in the Ikea couches, I imagine they'd look pretty tatty after a bit of use.
We ended up investing in a made-to-measure sofa from Livique in their Move range and are extremely happy with our purchase. In addition to each sitting place having individually adjustable head/shoulder supports, two of the seats recline. It is very nice to be able to custom adjust the head and foot supports when you are settling down for an evening of movie watching. It was also nice to be able to choose fabric type and colour from a wide range of options. Given that we have no plans to move before retirement (which is more than 20 years away) we decided it was worth investing in something that would be both exceptionally comfortable and also durable.
Here's a link to the product page , and the brochure . Would highly recommend a visit to the nearest Livique shop to do a test.
I should point out that we didn't initially consider buying a couch with reclining seats: I only ever thought recliners are for old people, not for someone who is still in their 30s. But if you will use the couch for TV-watching and have the budget they are absolutely the way to go.
