Hi all,
This is my 3rd attempt at trying to engage people into some kind of social event. Maybe drinks or dinner in or around the Fribourg area. I don't know the area very well, but do know there are some bars and nice restaurants around here.
It seems the majority are in Zurich which is a shame seeing as it's so far from where I am. But really would like to meet some people here in Switzerland.
I moved here last week from Manchester, UK and would love to meet people to make friends or make it a regular thing for all newbies around this area.
Hopefully, i'll get some replies this time???

I admire your continued resolve and determination to make it happen!
You're more likely to get replies if you set it up as a calendar event in the Social Events/Activities section of the forum, rather than starting threads that can easily be missed once it's off the first page of the forum thread listings.
Also have a look for any events already created for in and around your area of Switzy and sign up.

Bear in mind, that many of us in the Fribourg area are family folks, and it's not always possible to sneak away without everyone in tow, for young, singles type events.
However, there is a popular annual event happening in 3wks. time, just a 10min. bus ride from Fribourg ....

This usually attracts many EFers - singles and families - over the w/e ... and the grumpy cheeseman will be there, so this is good point to congregate and meet others (and eat cheese and drink hot toddies).

Click on the "Events" drop-down menu (top row immediately under the English Forum heading and logo depicting the smiley, happy EFers ) > "Social Events" > "Add New Event" (3rd and last option to the very right on the top line of the Calendar). Away you go!
