Depends on what you want / need. I personally think that Android sucks on tablets. It's not just about the OS itself, it's also the fact that google still isn't selling any media in Switzerland. I'd buy the Nexus 10 to the low price because it's a superb gaming device.

That said - the iPads suck too, at the moment. The iPad 4 is way too heavy and the mini has an abysmal screen resolution (typing this on a mini - I absolutely hate the screen).

Also, the iPad two and three went for up to 50% off at Mediamarkt when the 4 came out, so this isn't an Android-exclusive.

I ordered on Saturday 28th (early in the morning) to a branch.

Since then I received a confirmation saying I ́ll be informed as soon as it ́s available for pickup. Obviously this might still happen.

Cruised some shops - Zürich HB as well as the large one off Bahnhofstrasse - they didn ́t have any on stock.

Does anyone know if the Internetorders will be fulfilled?

As you ordered on saturday I would expect it to be delivered tomorrow.

Mine was delivered the next day but I ordered during the week.

Castro Jnr would agree with you. I bought him a Galaxy Tab 8.9 when they were on sale, primarily so that he could watch his Teletubbies videos and YouTube and leave me in peace with my iPad. He absolutely hated it and ended up nicking my iPad.

As a side note, watching a 2.5 year old use an iPad is incredible...

Swipe to unlock > scroll through pages of apps to find YouTube > open it up > look in recent vids for his favourite > skip the adverts > full screen and increase the volume. He was mildly irritated when I upgraded to iOS7 but now he's back in control

I somewhat have to revise my previous statement - I ended up getting one (couldn't resist for 249.- - figured I'd give it to my dad if I don't like it). And you know what? I find it most pleasant to use. It's fast (considerably faster than my iPad Mini after the iOS 7 update), it works perfectly with my TV (by simply using a 20 Fr. Mini-HDMI cable), the screen's phenomenal, weighs much less than the 10" iPad, has great speakers. It's my new gaming, browsing and TV-watching device. I'll be putting my iPad Mini on Ricardo tomorrow :-/

I put Nova launcher on it so I could make it look at bit less gloomy (still think Google should probably hire a new designer) - now even the GUI looks good.

The tab 8.9 is slow and has the mind-boggingly ugly Touchwiz on it - I can't blame you for hating that one. My last Android tablet was also from Samsung and I hated it as well. Android's come a long way, however - even the apps look great and pretty much all mainstream apps are available in tablet-optimized versions.

I didn't order it at all - I just went to the shop in Kreuzlingen and bought the only one they had (display model, but in perfect condition)

the Media Markt in Stucki Basel was overflowing with them yesterday at 399. Using the voucher I guess it comes down to 249, but unfortunately the deal expires today. I played with one in the store and didn't feel any different after doing so. It's big ugly bezel and very weak speakers (I tried Badboy's La La La on youtube at full blast) were a big turn off. Screen is nice though, can't deny that.

The bezel is big, but it's quite comfortable to hold while sitting on the sofa. The speakers are pretty great compared to the iPad's. Still only tablet-sized, obviously.

I have bought my new iPad for 459 CHF.

I really like the iPad and still think it is the best tablet, but compared to this offer it is simply overprices. You can get 2 Nexus for the price of one iPad!

It is an amazing deal that makes all other tablets overpriced.

It was ready for collection yesterday (Wednesday 09 October) after 12 days (8 working days). No idea what took so long, but since it arrived I don ́t really mind.

Good to see it available at 253 with Microspot

I keep debating about this one.

The price is excellent. On the other hand the performance was not so good even when it was released (meaning that it did not top the benchmarks charts), probably because of the too-high resolution and the Exynos CPU.

Still it's a Nexus, I can install a properly working Cyanogenmod (a properly working Cyanogenmod ROM is the best Android out there, even better than Google's), and I don't have a big tablet since I gave my HP Touchpad to my brother.

How's the battery?

. In fact the new models are coming, and certainly it will reduce the price of older models.

So true! Am afraid if I buy an iPad my 2.5 year old will take it over and figure out how it works quicker than me!

Did anybody receive the official Kitkat update?

Mine not yet, but I'm not sure this is bad news since some people say it is buggy.

But knowing me, the moment it pops up I will update.
