nexus 10 249chf interdiscount

Good deal on right now for the nexus 10, I guess in preparation of the announcement of the next generation version...

I just picked one up - works as expected :-)

ordered this last night on their homepage. when you sign up you get a chf 10.- coupon which you can use for orders over 100.-

still waiting for mine to be delivered to the store though

Amazingly cheap.

Hi, can anyone tell me about its internet connectivity?

If I don't have wifi available, can I simply use any mobile sim card for internet connection? or simply, can I use this device as a mobile for calling and browsing using a sim card?

About right I would say, this kind of depreciation perfectly underscores why its not worth paying top dollar for any Android tablet.

As opposed to a w8 tablet?

This is not a 3G tablet, therefore it doesn't have a sim card slot. You NEED wifi as well the first time you turn it on, to link it to a google account, then you need wifi for anything that requires a connection to the internet.

You could apply that logic to the bargain bin EOL iPads that appear in ID/MediaMarkt shortly after the new ones are released.

Fair enough, iPads get a modest discount just prior to the launch of the next model (circa CHF 100 off). However the Nexus 10 is being sold at a firesale discount (>50% off). Perhaps because I'm always turning over my gadgets on Ebay/Ricardo to make way for the new, this stuff is more important to me.

Out of interest, do your actual needs and requirements change before or after a new model is released?

The original price offered by interdiscount is grossly overinflated. They can be had for 419CHF on digitec.

250CHF is a great price. The screen is fantastic. More PPI than an iPad

No, but the 2nd hand market price does

next price is Microspot, 299chf...

http://www.toppreise.ch/prod_293741.html

Ok it's still 50chf cheaper, but it's not a wonderful, magic 50% discount.

In fact, Interdiscount price is 16.7% cheaper than Microspot's price.

i just ordered one and collect it tomorrow

It doesn't really matter who sells it for how much. 249 is a great price for what you're getting. After this batch is gone I don't think it'll be so easy to find a 10" tablet with this performance and display resolution for such a low price.

Yes it does.

No one argued that it's not a "great price" but its not 50% wonderful deal of the year, etc...

And the comment above seems to support that price does matter: someone mentionned a huge 50% discount, while in fact it's grossly inflated original price.

After all it's a price 16.7% cheaper than the cheapest price available-

For some it might be interesting (if they need that product), for other it's less interesting. For example, for resale it strictly reduces the possible margin especially after the hassle of deliveries, payment, etc...

So i'd say it's a decent deal, but not excessively amazing.

PS: I don't agree with the pessimist scenario: "after this batch is gone I don't think it'll be so easy to find a 10" tablet with this performance and display resolution for such a low price"

. In fact the new models are coming, and certainly it will reduce the price of older models. You want example? see how much worth the Galaxy S3 now on Interdiscount, compared to a year ago: 300chf approx VS 550chf.

Same goes for those items, once the new model is out, the previous ones are relatively quickly reduced.

Castro, we've considered doing this with some of our old model stuff too...but how do you wipe it clean of all your data before you sell it? (apologies for ignorance)

You do have valid points. With regards to that Galaxy S3, 299 is the price of the S3 mini. The S3 is 449chf.

And I totally agree that saying 50% off is stupid. I didn't say the thing is worth 500chf, I just said 249 is a good deal :-)

In fact, the S3 is currently at 399CHF at Digitech and a few other sites:

It was on sale a few days/weeks ago, it was around 350chf something.

Well yeah it's a decent deal based on quite a few criteria, thanks for sharing it- I thanked you in the OP- But still not especially amazing deal, so I was just clarifying, especially about the "50%" cheaper thing.
