Should add that I know a very good dog sitter/walker in Dübendorf if that will influence your opinion on where to live..something which isn't that easy to find in Switzerland.
Wallisellen is rather nice. Actually many the small villages around Airport/Dübendorf have some charm - Dietlikon, Wangen, Bassersdorf - I know them all and they are all nice. They are however rather family and work oriented. Not much going on there. If I were a cuple with no kids I would more look to the fringe areas of Zürich, bordering to Dübendorf. But of course, that does get a bit more expensive.
Btw, I see you like badminton. There is a great fitness center in Stettbach, right on the border to Dübendorf called Schumacher that has badminton courts as well (not that easy to find here in CH).
Hi again, ok all signed now and weve got a date of 1st November as expected. SO we will be there as planned .. the company is givaudan by the way hopefully we c nmeet up some time in November
Welcome to the Dübendorf area, there are much worse places to be. Do you both have a car? This would have a major impact on your choice of a place to live.
At the moment there are various properties to rent advertised in the local super market. You can guarantee these are not on the internet.
If you want I could give you an up-date on new properties I come across.
Good luck with your move and I look forward to welcoming you.
Thankyou Oldhand... yes we both have transport. Id appreciate it if you heard of any suitable properties for rent and let me know . Were looking for a long term rental with 3 bedrooms and one that accepts quiet pets ... price up to 2500chf per month ex nebenkosten.
also preference is for one with a garage or parking space in or around Dubendorf, Uster and greiffensee.. thanks again
Well were all packed up and ready to leave NL... our first apartment will be a service appartment in Kloten ... which happens to mean crap!! in Dutch... hope it doesnt live up to its name!!, and yes i know its at the end of the airport runway .. ive got a godo set of ear plugs so should be manageable.
Were looking forward to meeting some of you in the next few months, and getting involved in life in Zeurich... We are still looking around the Dubendorf, Griefensee, Uster areas for a permanent place ...
