Night shift work compensation

Hello all.

I have a question about this topic.

I currently work in Frankfurt in IT, as a technician in big global company. Depending on volume of night shifts, also if the shift is on weekend, or some holiday, or both. I can get really nice bump in pay at the end of the month. When i started, base pay 49k year, so it was cca 2600E netto, but avg due to shifts it would go to 3k, sometimes 3.5k.

Which is nice sum for a young non married person.

I might ask for relocation to Zurich, where i would end up in same role, base pay should be 90k.

But when i work shifts and holidays, what can i expect?

As Jackie mentioned, it depends on the contract. A few night shifts or Sunday per year, you get extra money. More than a few night shifts or Sundays per year and you get nothing but extra free time, no more money.
