Migros's out of them.
Coop's out of them.
Coop doesn't even have clotted cream anymore.

I sold real Bagels at the Viadukt market, they were baked at Bagel Boys near Oerlikon and they're excellent.
Olygirl, just in case you are passing through Basel or Zurich - this place is decent and at the main stations:

And Farmy perhaps delivers to Schwyz?
I remember all the sesame ones were pulled from the shelves sometime last year or so due to some kind of contamination in sesame seeds here in CH, but I doubt that's related to the current bagel situation, since the plain ones are gone now, too. It makes me wonder if they were sourced from the UK and due to Brexit and Covid, maybe there's a problem with the supply chain (No idea... ).

If anyone is looking to make the recipe I used zopf flour and I found Barley Malt Extract in a local health food store.
I actually find that Bagel Boys bagels are not true in texture and flavour. They do have the outside nice, but sometimes they taste more like dense bread than that springy yet soft bagel interior.
Recently I tried Babi's Bagel Shop https://www.babisbagel.com/ in Zurich and I can say they make excellent bagels as well. You can buy them frozen too in the shop.
The Bagelstein ones have a sales location very near me but I haven't tried them because they don't look right. I guess I'll give them a chance and the ones you mention in Zurich... but to be honest I'm not holding out much hope.
What about rye bread? Is there any place you can get a good corned beef on rye?
Making them at home is the way to go, at least in this neck of the woods.
I happen to be in Oerlikon tomorrow though, maybe i'll check out the aforementioned Bagel Boys for lunch.
Some years ago the Coop at Seedamm introduced what they claimed to be fresh made bagels, on a limited tme offer. Even went so far as to put out samples.
Alas, yet again merely round bread - and dry at that - masquerading as bagels.
I overheard one Swiss customer saying "I don't understand the fuss over bagels, these are not very good." Of course you don't understand, since these are so far from bagels as to be laughable...
But I digress.
If the bagels in Reinach are the real deal, I might even make the trek...
[1] When Erasmus' bones in Muenster no longer lie, Basel's doom is written in the sky. (Kinda like a 'Birnam Wood to Dunsinane' vibe.)
My favourite bagels are the Montreal Style Bagels. I found this recipe online with a video. Definitely going to give this a try.
