I don't know if this can be useful to someone:
If you are renting a car from the airport (Punta Raisi), on the way back make sure you stop off (leave the motorway) somewhere before the airport to fill it up because there is absolutely nowhere to fill it up around the airport.
We got caught out (first time ever for a rental car) and had to pay the petrol at the rental agency's price. We had a GPS too but 2 petrol stations (relatively) near the airport were out of service and as we were already late we gave up.
IMO This isn't a coincidence. If they wanted to build a petrol station near the airport there would be enough room to do so. Possibly something to do with the mafia? Thing is to be informed.
...And I forgot to add: lost_inbroad is a wonderfully charming person.
..and we have a winner for the "random statement of the month".
I forgot to add....the 3569th tree from the left on the main highway in Botswana has slightly more leaves than the very next tree...which in case you'd face yourself close to starvation could help you (if you'd find yourself in the area).
Ok so to put this thread in context:
lost_inbroad you are partly italian, right?
You are unhappy because I dared criticise something in Italy, right?
My goal was not to criticise Italy or Sicily but simply to warn people who might be going so that they don't make the same mistake as us (and pay 100 EUR extra)
This has nothing to do with Switzerland and so it'll go to Off-Topic.
The real trouble is not where it belongs on here, but that no-one will find it before they go off to Italy anyway. They just won't be searching for this Info. Pity, as it would inded save them money.
Theoretically it should be in a 'Points to watch if you gong to Italy on holiday' Forum. Where is there one?
I could care less about Italy...I just found your thread very random. I mean think about it, you wrote a thread about a gas station that appears on GPS but that actually isn't there...that's all good and grandy...but you are talking about a gas station in SICILY!!! Which is slightly far off the next S-Bahn and hardly affects anybody on the forum...but I congratulate you on the good deed of giving people a heads up.
The goal of my initial message was to warn people who might rent a car in Sicily (if travellers from Switzerland do rent a car in Sicily IMO there is 80% chance they will rent it at Palermo airport). True it won't be useful to everyone but then I did write: "I don't know if this can be useful to someone" at the start of the thread.
I understand that this might not be useful to you or even remotely interesting. What I don't get is the pointless aggressivity. If a thread doesn't appeal to you just mind your own business and move on.
..and where was I aggressive?
