Noise coming from nearby restaurant

Or pray for rain

Immediately after the Swiss won the last game, shouts of joy could be heard throughout the neighbourhood. Five minutes later, there were shorts blasts of honking and yelling. Then the rain came and washed it all away.

Talked to the restaurant owner. Things are quieter after 23:30. Called the police and they said I can call them after 10:00 if they are making too much noise. A compromise has been reached.

See, I told you so.

Noise coming from nearby restaurant, huh? It’s normal. It’s called EURO2021 euphoria

Move to Montreal in the next 2 weeks ,Montreal will win the ' Stanley cup',wait you talk about Noise

Good on you for speaking directly to the restaurant owner.

Even though you now know that you're entitled to call the police after 10 pm, I'd recommend that you don't, for all the reasons mentioned by others, above.

Rather just keep a list of the dates of the games, and on each one decide, for yourself, whether the noise can be tolerated, and whether any measures you've taken help, enough, or whether to stroll over there to the owner (or call him by phone, in case he can hear it ring) and ask him to turn the volume down a bit. And he will probably agree to do so, since he now knows who you are and where you live.

Yes, very annoying if you're trying to sleep. But generally accepted since it is a temporary thing, on a short list of dates that are known, so the whole thing won't persist forever.

Did you call them last night? I don't think it is the tv noise which is the problem, its those damned Swiss not following their own rules about quite times.

To be fair it isn't normally the Swiss, since they so rarely get anywhere worth celebrating in football.

Italians are the usual suspects, being both better at football and more likely to beep their horns at every opportunity.

As another idea - you could always find someone nice, who lives in an area with no restaurants or football loving neighbours nearby, and spend the night at that place...
