Hi EF's
We recently moved to Riehen as we found a lovely topfloor apartment in a quiet area, or so we thought!!!
Our apartment backs onto a huge alotment site and of an evening and early hours all you can hear in animal noises (really loud squarking and oinking) Is this allowed? I dont think the people that own half the alotment live close so they dont have to put up with the noise!
Is there someone we can speak/complain to, I dont want to seem like a moaner but it is constant
Thanks for any help
Brian
Knock on their door and ask if they sell the eggs that the chickens lay...when they ask, tell them about the squawking and clucking and you thought it was a Swiss thing to maintain a farmyard in the bedroom.
Brian...
Riehen may be in Basel-Stadt but it is known for its rural properties. Just what would you have your neighbor do about the oinking and the squawking? Do you want Old McDonald to go out to the barn and tell Wilbur, Bitsy, Betsy and Golly to knock off the racket?
If you lived next to an airport, would you complain to the airport authority about the loudness of the planes and tell them they have to put it on mute after 10:00pm?
Near where my parents used to live, one family ordered a hen thinking they would have fresh eggs for breakfast. Anyway, there was a fou(w?)l-up with the delivery as they ended up with a cockerel instead - which would crow at sunrise without fail.
Some weeks later, said bird had disappeared - apparently at 5am one day, said neighbours received a phone call where the person at the other end yelled down the phone, "cock-a-doodle-bloody-doo!".
Cheers,
Nick
Some questions :
- alotment site ? Is it what here is called Schrebergärten ?
- the noise ? what animals (pigs ....) are involved ?
- are the animals INside the Schrebergärten area ?
--- quite important as in most Schrebergärten, to keep animals is
--- prohibited (well behaving dogs and cats are tolerated)
