2 - The new employer applies for the permit transfer
3 - If your permit is 3+ years old, its transfer is easy (based on my experience)
4 - Your new employer cant apply for a new B permit until you de-register your current one and leave Switzerland.
5 - Based on the present situation- "continue in your present job for some more time"
Hope it helps !!
I have the new credit card B permit. My employer's name is only mentioned as part of the code on the back of the card. The code is the combination of my employer name, my birthday, nationality, my name. I am not sure if it is unlimited or limited.
I will stay in my current job as long as I could. Hopefully the transfer of B permit is easier than having the new employer to apply a brand new one.
My Husband and me (dependent) working on Restricted B permit from last 3 years. We used to renew every year . This year we applied for renewal , i would like to know is there any possibilities to get Unrestricted/Open B permit ( change of job allowed) for my husband so that he can change job without any new/fresh B permit application by new employer.
When/How/By whom to change Restricted B permit to Unrestricted B permit.
Awaiting for you people suggestions or opinion to convert restricted B permit to Unrestricted B permit
Thanks in advance
Nope, the restricted B never changes to an open B on renewals.
I came here last year, so my first permit is already a plastic card format. It only has the word self employment requires authorization on it. No company name is mentioned. But I read on EF that some people have lost the company name on their permits when they changed from paper to plastic, so the fact that I do not have the company name written on the permit doesn't seem to matter much. The company name is also NOT embedded in the code on the back of the plastic card either.
I went back and looked at the "letter" that was sent to me last year - the one that allowed me to go to the consulate to get the entry visa in Chicago. I believe it's the authrization letter. "Ermachtigung zur Visumerteilung (Einreiseerlaubnis)" is the name of the letter. On this letter, it says that my permit is "1402 Jahresaufenthalter (-in)" under the title Zulassungcode. Then under Aufenthaltszweck, it lists my job title and employer. Then under Augenthalsdauer, it says "12 Monate befristet auf 24 Monate."
It seems like I am on a limited B permit to maximum of 24 months from the letter? But on the plastic copy, it says "Augenhaltsbewiligung (B)" and "Mit Erwerbstatigkeit" which according to the sticky makes this a long term work permit subject to quota which would be an "open" permit.
I am confused. Can someone help?
ps. I will be at my current employer for one year before the change of job, so that's not an issue.
Thanks a lot!
You will not have any problem , as a precautionary measure call your Kantonal Migrationsamt and they would tell you.
Cheers
btw, then why does it says 12 months to maximum of 24 months on my letter? confused...
I don't think so, OP check the numerous threads on this, there are restircted quoters on permits for non eu. Anyone who says you have a good chance of getting once is talking rubbish, sorry.
eg
Why don't you just call up the Cantonal office and ask them? Or ask your Swiss firm if it is possible? Ofcourse, just don't tell that you want an open permit because you want to change your job..... hey... hang on... maybe you can... maybe they offer you that office with a view, oh man! those beautiful snow clad mountains. While they are at it, they may as well give you that humongous pay rise... daimn.... think of all those diamonds, that glittering billion carat stone. i am already blinded.
