Non EU dependent of Non EU permit B holder, can she work for another canton??

Hello all,

I am a non-EU B permit holder. I work and live in Luzern. I plan to bring my wife and kid to Luzern next year. I understand that she will also hold a B permit attached to mine. Her current employer has a company in Schaffhausen. My question is could she work for a Schaffhausen company while her B permit is issued by Luzern and she will keep living in Luzern?

I searched on this forum but got confused by various response. Looks like EU member has the freedom to live in one canton and work in another canton. but it is not necessarily the case for non-EU B permit holder ?

Does she have to work in the office? Because going daily from Lucerne to SH and back is a nightmare trip.

No, she does not. She will be working from home.

Then yes. If the two of you have B permits, she can work wherever, she can even be self employed (you still can't though). If you end up with an L, her right to work is much more limited, and the employer needs to get an authorisation before hiring her, but it still should be no problem that they're in a different canton.

Many thanks. We wrote an email to the Kanton immigration office and got the same response. We can live in one Kanton and work for a company restgistered in another Kanton as long as we have B permit, even though we are not EU citizens.
