I will be graduating soon and plan of applying for a job seeker permit, however I intend to use that period to mostly apply for jobs in other EU countries.
I am aware that getting a job as a Non-EU in Switzerland is nearly impossible so that's why I'm considering to apply to other nearby countries like Germany instead.
But the question is, are my chances of getting a job in a nearby country while applying from Switzerland higher than if I were to return to my country(third-world) and apply from there?
Or is it the same anywhere I am?
First of all it’s a single labour market, so if the Euro stats show no shortage for your skill set then an employer in any of those countries will have no motivation to consider your application whether you are applying from Switzerland or your home country. The process of obtaining a permit for you is the same.
The point of giving you a Swiss job search permit, is that as the graduate of a Swiss college, Swiss employers will be more interested in you as you are locally educated and available for interviews. If you want to squander that opportunity doing something else, that is up to you.
It should go without saying but don’t do anything that would breach the terms of your permit. Being registered on the Schengen system for a breach of immigration law would make it almost impossible to get a work visa in any of those countries later on.
Thank you. Of course, I don’t plan to breach any terms. I’m only saying because I feel that since my options may be limited here in terms of the jobs market, as I apply for jobs here I can also apply for jobs else where just top broaden my options.
But you are right, it’s a great opportunity and I don’t intent to mess it up.
I very much doubt you'll even get past the first filter in most instances - do you have the right to work here, when applying outside of Switzerland. Your permit will give you the right to cold call, network etc... use it and go all in to land a job, because it is your best chance.
