Due to the severe magnetic storms occurring right now, northern lights are visible as far south as Switzerland. I took this photo from my balcony.
And if you look at the Jungfrau Webcam (scroll back to around 3am on 11 May) you can see the mountains covered in this unearthly pink glow.
Apparently there will be further chances to see them all this weekend as long as its not too cloudy or you are in the middle of a city (light pollution). Its not so obvious with the naked eye, but much more visible if you take a photo.

I’m so gutted I missed it! Seeing some Northern lights has been on my bucket list for ages!

So strong last night shortly after 10 it was easily visible and unmistakable with the naked eye. This Pizol webcam is always good for picking them up - best at about 22:30

Wow it’s impressive ine could even see that from the balcony in a city. Is there any way of predicting whether it would be visible tonight?
Wow! We were camping in Gampelen but did not see them! What time was that?
That was just after midnight from our bathroom window, literally a stone’s throw away from Gampelen.

Gosh… Went to sleep about 2345 so just missed it… Sad now looks beautiful!!!
Just about everywhere. But you need to get away from citylights. Get as high as you can.
Did anyone actually see the lights in the early hours of Sunday?
I didn’t see anything, the main activity happened in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

And again last night apparently but there was a lot of cloud cover them so probably not much to be seen,
Looks like we chose the wrong week to be in Mexico, or maybe not. Jokes aside, it looks spectacular!
