Notice savings account

Does anyone know if there are savings accounts in Switzerland that have a notice period e.g. 30 days.

You do get them in the UK however they are fairly rare, but I find them super useful because you can deposit as many times as you like but you have to give notice to withdraw, which promotes saving and not spending on unncessary stuff?

I belive with a saving account you can only withdraw x times per month or year. I think 5 times per year but I am not sure.

Will depends on the banks. Many have limits how much you can withdraw without notice and make you pay a penalty if you go beyond that. Look at UBS.

Another way is just to put them in an investment account for example with Truwealth - can withdraw anytime but it’s a little more cumbersome etc this you tend to put there and forget.

Yes you can but the rates are still rubbish, for example the best without a banking package may be this at 0.15 to 0.3%

Moneyland is a good place to find this stuff, but at the moment trying to get interest on cash isn't worth the bother from what I've seen.

Any bank will allow one to withdraw all or portion of money over limit, without penalty a set, but advanced notice is required. Usually, it's about 3 months. Set limit is usually on a monthly basis and varies according to account type and from bank to bank.

I'm with ZKB and AFAIK there is nothing to stop me withdrawing as much money as I want.

It's just that some penalty charge may appear in my bank statement afterwards.

In other words they don't actually provide a barrier or warning to such withdrawals, but hit you with the penalty anyway.

In principle if you withdraw more than what is allowed in the T&C, you are subject to a penalty charge. However, as my banker pointed out to me, with the interest rates on savings accounts being what they are, that may well be as near to zero that the bank might not even bother.

As the commercial banks are paying the central bank to park their money overnight, they should be paying us to close our savings accounts.

open a normal bank account, destroy the associated debit card, don't download the ebanking app (or lose the password).

Postfinance told me 5k each month from saving account, with the card.

If you go to the desk, you can take more,I think.

So you can get 0.01% on an account with limits - really why would you bother?
