Notice 'to the end of the month': meaning?

Hi All,

I have a notice period of 3 months "to the end of the month" by contract.

What does it mean? E.g. if I resign on 15 October 2021 then last day of employment is right at the end of the next three calendar months, i.e. 31 January 2022?
