Not true…I had one for a while. It was a lovely drive, and well-designed.

Oh dear, what a travesty to the body. My old stomping grounds, though. We had an old V12 in Neuchatel, circa 2003…parked outside a posh hotel, and someone keyed the entire side. Does that qualifiy for You’ve Been Switzerlanded?

Exactly. This is a deep transformation of the body work. I understand why it’s seen as a travesty.
I grew up with the Need for Speed games. I have a soft spot for the aesthetic of the game and the cross-pollination with car tuning, an idiotic projects in the last 20+ years. Idiotic projects such as:

Speaking of birds, why do pigeons bob their head when they walk?
The point is to keep the eyes in the exact same location for a short while (head stabilisation) which enables fixating the object of interest (gaze stabilisation) by the eyeball muscles so the object of interest remains precisely projected onto the macula. Optokinetic eye movements.
We do this, too. Usually it happens unnoticed, automatically. If you shake your head right now you’ll keep your focus on the display, automatically limiting the angle of the movement. If you’ve ever tried to read what’s written on a car or train passing by quickly you’ve probably noticed the behaviour yourself.
This what it looks like with birds of prey and others. The pattern is the same but the body movements happen much faster than when walking. Fascinating stuff.
And while I’m at it, this is a motorglider pilot who specialises in getting accompanied by small a flock of birds, geese and whatnot. It looks like the birds take advantage of the airwaves the vehicle creates.

Actually this is one thing from the Elon that I can get behind.
Space exploration died when it became political, all this pottering around LEO, it’s not bringing us anywhere, it’s boring m, this kind of stuff igniters the feeling that I had at the beginning of the space race and it’s exiting. If the billionaires want to spend money doing stuff that was relegated to sci-fi then let’s go.
And it is not like there is no money in it… Space X is a successful company.
Hey, where’s the Voyager 2 today? Following Curiosity Rover in Mars has been super interesting. The Rosetta Mission to that comet was almost science-fiction. LandSAT missions allowed to see our planet in a completely novel way. SWOT mission now is producing great data for water resources.
Space travel with people it’s sexy, but data from instruments is even sexier.

We have been sharing our radio transmissions since 1897. As radio signals move at the speed of light (outside atmosphere) any other being within 128 light years is probably hoping we will shut up soon.
Voyager 1 is just 0.00263 light years away.
