I know he would have scared the shit out of me as I already have serious problems with long tunnels.

Don’t know why he’s being charged with Fahrerflucht (hit and run), did they have to chase him?
However, the fine is gonna teach him, he will possibly have to save up for it.

" Motorcyclist caught after 47 overtaking inside the Gotthard

The Ticino cantonal police arrested a British motorcyclist on Sunday who had committed a major series of prohibited overtaking in the Gotthard motorway tunnel. The man was banned from driving in Switzerland.

The motorcyclist, a 46-year-old British national living in England, was arrested in the canton of Uri by officers of the Uri cantonal police. Shortly before, the Joint Alarm Centre (CECAL) was notified of the multiple offences he had committed, the Ticino police said in a statement on Monday.

The analysis of the surveillance cameras established that the motorcyclist had made no less than 47 overtakings, including two on heavy goods vehicles and 45 on cars, inside the tunnel. The driver was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for a serious violation of the Federal Road Traffic Act, driving under a state of incapacity, and was banned from driving in Switzerland."

As far as forum rules are concerned, I think you’re confusing it with a long defunct English forum eleewhere. I quickly scanned the rules here and it doesn’t say anything about foreign.

It may not be in the forum rules to provide a translation but it’s common courtesy to provide at least an indication of what it’s about when listing a link in another language.
I know cryptic thread titles and comments are RobBob’s thing but they can be seriously irritating.

Beat me to tell this. Translation and commentary on the linked content are good posting manners. If too cryptic, I have asked members to explain a bit (at least once).

This time, the key to the apparent riddle is the thread title “OK! Who was there?”

Sometimes, I also miss the thread title as part of the content and it takes a while to understand what is going on. Not this time, I chuckled right away.

Less jokingly, this is deep trouble, right?

The man was reported for seriously offences against the Road Traffic Act, drive in inappropriate condition ( FahruntĂŒchtigkeit) and driver escape.

I just learned FahruntĂŒchtigkeit is not only due to alcohol. It also covers medicament, fatigue, and any medical condition that incapacitates driving.
