Hi All
Was wondering if anyone can help with the above question.
Basically, I was made redundant recently and I have now sorted all the details required to go onto the chomage. However, I'd like to move to France. Therfore, is it possible to live in France and claim Swiss chomage? The company I was made redundant from was based in Geneve and so all taxes etc were paid to Canton de Geneve.
Thanks
As far as I understand it you'll get french chomage, which is less than you'd get in Switzerland. The unemployment office should be able to tell you for sure, or possibly your ex-HR department?
I've heard of people living in France but keeping a swiss 'official' address (often just a post office box) but you'd be in deep trouble if you were caught.
Agreed. I'd like to keep it all official. Thanks!
Check with the Groupement de Frontaliers. They know more than anyone about this kind of obscure cross-border questions. I'd be amazed if your HR department is any use.
