Op shops or Flea Markets?

there is a flea market on Langstrasse. I saw it was open this Saturday. (mud and all)

Hi, WhiteSkiFreak !

If you're looking for second-hand furniture, there are 3 shops in Fribourg, called "brocantes" in French, where you can find furniture and many other things. Have a look here for the addresses:

Coup d'Pouce:

Emmaüs:

HIOB:

(that one is in Granges-Paccot, about 10 min by car from the centre of Fribourg)

Good luck !

zurich airport flea market this saturday

(it is not in the actual airport but on the small hill where the long term parking is ) so if you drive, you should park there and walk up as there is no parking up there.

if you take the train to the airport you can walk from there

8-4 pm

Fribourg has a flea market every 1st Saturday of the month between April and September.

Fribourg also has the Emmaüs hall with second hand furniture. It is interesting to go and have a look frequently. It is at the rue de la Pisciculture, just going down after the Engeneering school on the route to Marly.

i love flea markts too............

this is a really good one. i have bought loads of english books and little things there.

the one at the bürkliplatz is also nice. one of my friends got a great bargain there. she got two tiffany bracelets for 40 sfr . each. i am still waiting for this to happen to me.

have fun.

Hi,

I thought that all Brockis are for charity?! Does anyone know more about Brockis?

Thanks

Can you be more specific - what's your question ?

Sorry I do that sometimes

How do you know if the certain Brocki is a charity or not? If it’s not a charity is it a normal shop? How did it get eligible for the Brocki name as opposed to a normal second hand shop?

Thanks

Most of the big brockis in Zurich have websites and they explain who they are and where the money goes...

Have a read back through this thread and you'll find some links and suggestions - or do a websearch for 'brocki zurich' and you'll find plenty...

There is quite a large second hand warehouse in Le Mont-sur-Lausanne called Le Galetas. It is at Chemin de la Tuiliere 5.

It has absolutely everything including furniture, toys, sports gear, books, crockery, and clothes. I have bought lots of stuff in there including ski suits and snow boots for the kids and myself, a lot of which looks virtually new. There is also a "designer" clothes area at the back of the general clothing area where I have seen designer clothes, shoes and handbags from labels like Gucci and Dolce Gabbana

I love popping in there every few months to see what's new. They also have "sales" every now and then when they knock up to 50% off the already low prices.

For those flea market lovers who are not in the Lausanne, Zurich or Bern area, there is one held in Pratteln near Basel.

It takes place four times a year and is the biggest event in the North West of Switzerland.

The next dates are:

Sun 28 June, Sun 30 Aug, Sun 25 October 2009

Further details can be found (in German but with lots of pictures )) here .

Have fun

The next date is 2nd May 2010 for the big Flohmarkt in Pratteln. Here's the link for the dates for the rest of the year:

in lausanne there is the salvation army on rue de la borde. gloryland in chavannes, there is a more mod retro type place for women's clothes in bessieres, don't remember the exact address thought but just under the bridge. and in lausanne flon there is a second hand store with all sorts of stuff- again not sure of the exact address but not far from the navy boot store.
