open a Kindergarten Canton Zug

Advices please, how difficult it is to pen a Kindergarten? I see a lot of pre-KG places in my area but not that many for 4-6 years old.

A friend suggested the idea,he could find someone to put big part of the money needed( how much?) ...

You are aware that the term Kindergarten means something very specific and highly regulated which is part of the official school curriculum?

4-6 year olds are obliged to go to Kindergarten, either state run or in a private or international school.

Do you mean opening a private school?

Yes of course. I know what educational system means, I have UNI Degree as Language Teacher ,but I know that each Canton has his own rules so..

I have a friend that has this idea.

Here in Zug is mandatory only 1 year of KG( I am on this stress right now looking for my son,but he is only 4 now so I still have a bit of time)

I would like to send him already this fall to private KG mainly because of the schedule that the public one has,but it is a good idea for now to invest in private KG, as I saw in the last months

What UNI you have the degree from?

Are you allowed to teach in Switzerland? Not every degree is immediately accepted here, better check that if it is a non Swiss degree

Good. I do not know how you will make people pay for something that they can get free. But that was not your question and your secret.

With your degree you may manage the place administratively, but you will need certified Kindergarten teachers which actually do the real business.

The canton of Zug website has some hints what is needed to open a new private school:

Here the list of all current existing private schools in Zug. Some are Kindergarten only:

Yes I am,my degree is recognized since 2012 at Swiss Uni Level

Thank you so so much for your time on helping me on this.

The rhing is that working parents need private schools also because of the schedule that the public ones have( that are made on the idea that moms have to stay at home). That is also my problem. I would gladly send my kid to public one and not pay CHF 2500 per month.

Thank you so much

I work 100% and my son is in the Swiss school system. Doesn't Zug offer a Tageshort for kids with working parents?

It costs a bit but nowhere near the costs of sending kids to private school.

You may end up with similar cost as you have to hire a location, teachers etc etc. And somehow I have the feeling that you cannot set up a kindergarten within a couple of months, but I can be wrong here.

The whole Catch-22 where you burn money for real good is the period where you are not approved as a Kindergarten but need room, teacher(s), and pupils signed up but not able to come until you have the approval.

The second period is when you got approval but have not enough pupils to run the place self sufficient.

Be aware with the HarmoS, harmonization of swiss schools, the 2 years of kindergarten (ages 4 and 5) will become mandatory for all cantons that have signed it. Already in place for most of swiss french area, still being implemented in many of the german speaking areas. The cut off age is also being harmonised.

I would wager a bet that this private kindergarten never gets opened if you're coming on englishforum to ask how much money you'll need to open one

Evidently you don't or you wouldn't be asking such questions, nor be so rude to people who are eminently well placed to help you !

I do earn a good salary as a Kindergarten Teacher. Could you offer 96'000 CHF gross per annum?

And then you need proper rooms, a cook (or catering), cleaning personnel and at least two Fachpersonen Betreuung for the time when there is no school.

You'll need enough playing room and the Cantons are quite finicky with proper and child-safe electrical installations and clean proper kitchen spaces and adequate furnishings.

If you can't rent a public gymnastic hall you will most likely have to prove that your Kindergarteners have enough and adequate room to do sport lessons. And so on.

I guess it is cheaper to hire a tagesmutter for your child.
