thanks!
Hello, does anyone know if FLUCONAZOLE can be purchased over the counter in Switzerland or does one need a perscription?
I use the swiss medic compendium to find information about medications. The documents you get are the same that you find in the medicament box. It tells you if you need a prescription. Sometine you get even retail price.
It's only in germana and french.
This is an antifungal drug (Diflucan) and I think it is not available over the counter in CH. Ask in the chemist just to be sure.
I think the strongest drug available for Candida infections, for example, is "Canesten" and this can be purchased over the counter.
Thanks for the replies.
Went to the pharmacist, and they spoke english, thank the gods, and no, they don't sell fluconazol/Difluclan over the counter. canesten doesnt really help in my case.
Thanks for the link MrVertigo, will be helpful in the future.
As you found out, it is by prescription only in Switzerland. If you come to the UK on holiday, pop into a chemist or two and get one (they only sell one at a time). The expiration date is usually a couple of years out, and saves the hassle and expense of having to get to the doctor when you really need the medicine.
