Originally I was looking for a reliable server to watch irish sports on the RTE player. I then found overplay. It's got servers to many countries around the world including US,UK,IRE,CH,AUS,NZ. It costs $10 a month
I tried the RTE player, BBC iplayer, Zattoo and full episodes on the fox website.
I had trouble playing them on the internet explorer but in Chrome they all work without problem. There is a choice of servers and I always found a reliable one.
Watching RTE yesterday I did need to change servers after around 15 min but that's quickly done.
I realise this sounds like a spam but I hope I've got enough posts to have some credibility
I'm just posting it cause it was doing my head in trying to find reliable irish and UK servers. This seems to be the answer and in my opinion well worth the 7-8 fr/month
Just a big-up to overplay.net from me too. I've been road testing their service for the last two weeks and am very impressed. Setting it up is childsplay, especially on the iPad where you simply download a VPN config file which does all the hard work for you.
What sort of speeds are you getting using an Overplay vpn?
you need to be more specific. Location?
and with smartdns, vpn is hardly needed. I have the dns servers on my router so all devices use them.
Unblock-US... $5 a month, no hit on speed, and it basically only works when it has to
http://www.unblock-us.com/ Can't see how the service in the OP beats that, especially at double the cost.
You can just opt for SmartDNS for $5 per month which does the *player stuff very happily.....and transparently.
Smart DNS is the way I will go - great
Yeah, same tech as what I posted.
Evening all, I've been using Overplay for years, but at the moment it appears my US Netflix is broken. Their support has provided some alternative connection details, but they are still not working for me. I was wondering if anyone else was having issues over the past few days?
Looks like they are actually taking their crack down on VPNs seriously this time.
Thanks
I have had sporadic issues this week. I have been told that a "Proxy" service has been detected. Once it stopped my session dead. The second time i just clicked "ok", did it again, and it worked. I can also plug my ipad into the tv which (touch wood) always seems to work.
Yeah, looks like it's not wanting to play nicely any more. Just been reading a little about SickRage, and that actually looks like it might be pretty simple to set up, so I think I'll give that a go tomorrow, if the little monkeys leave me alone long enough.
Child's play, takes no more than an hour to set up with torrent trackers. I have it running on a NAS and got the latest episodes of Billions, Criminal Minds and several other shows overnight. It just works.
