Hello everyone, I recently ordered a health supplement from a EU country. It got to swiss customs and sat there with no updates for 9 days. I called and was told that the package was not scanned so it might not be there. 3 days later there is an update that says "CH-8010 Zürich 1, Import process cancelled in country of destination“. I called again and I was told that it‘s possible that it is being held and jnspected by customs becauae it might not be permitted in Switzerland. I looked into it and found someone saying that it is a banned substance in Switzerland. Now I think it was seized by customs. I had no idea it was banned as it says nowhere. Does anyone know what happens next? This happened to me in the U.S once and I just got a letter saying my package was seized because it contained X and that it would be destroyed. What happens in Switzerland, does anyone know? TIA
Depending on how "banned" the substance is, there are a few things that may happen:
On the lightest scale, you will get a letter stating it's a controlled substance. You will be asked to prove permission to posess/import, and if not, they will dispose of it for you (and charge you a fee for that - usually 100chf).
On the heaviest scale, you will be investigated for importing drugs/controlled substances (this is highly unlikely if the volume is small, it's just some shitty protein powder and this is your first infringement).
If OP does not shares substance and amount, this person is savvy enough to know that something is wrong and is trying to find a way out of it. If OP bought 1 cheap bottle of painkillers illegal in CH and got caught, there would be no need to hide anything.
OP: everyone deserves a lawyer that defends your interests. Look for one, anonymous and bored people in the internet are no substitute to legal advice. Also you got to the point where you don't have to call anyone, they're coming anyway.
Specifically for anything that could, in any broad sense, be regarded (somewhere, by someone) as medicine or as a health-supplement, the staff at any pharmacy would be able to tell you.
Yes but its a pretty generic name, "X". I mean I can help you if you've ordered some E, or some K - they are both banned. X im not sure about, I didnt realize you could order chromosomes online.
