dont mean to sound anyone weird its just that I am new here and would love to meet up with people from back home so I can talk in my mother tongue (URdu/ punjabi)... plus share (desi )info..... food ofcourse...anyways please reply if any around... and ofcourse Indians too who can speak hindi....sorry If i offend anyone with this post/thread....

btw even if you aint in basel u can still reply...basel is no restriction here...

Ive yet to find one? With Ramzan and Eid coming up thought it would be nice to know people who share the traditions of the season...

There are many Pakistanis in the forum, but you'll need to draw them out. My advice is to get specific - organise a Pakistani dinner and invite everyone, Pakistani or not. That way you'll get to meet both Pakistani people and those who appreciate Pakistani culture. If you click on Events up top you can start one.

Welcome to the forum. I am also from Pakistan but live around 30 minutes away from Basel.

There is an upcoming Event(Annual Picnic Party) arranged by Swiss Pakistan Society on 25th June, 2011. This is the largest gathering of Pakistani community in switzerland. You can get more details on http://www.swisspak.com/web/activities .

thanks Masood, Yes I know about the picnic I was invited but unfortunately I cant attend as the date is clashing with my daughter's birthday and you know how big a deal a birthday celebration can be for us...so maybe next time inshallah!

There is small pakistani community in and around Basel, not as vibrant and active as in the UK but they do organise events such Pakistan Independence day celebrations. PM me your details and I will let you know when the next get together is.
