Palmer's Cocoa Butter?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where to find Palmer's Cocoa Butter to prevent pregnancy stretch marks*? I've looked in Coop, Migros, various apothekes, etc... to no luck.

Thanks!

*I realize all these lotions and potions may not actually do anything to thwart stretch marks, but figured it's worth trying..

Hi there,

I live Bern and those type of products are normally sold at the Asian or African stores. Try looking for those type of stores in Zurich.

Good Luck!

If you dont find the brand you want the Bodyshop sell Cocoa Butter products - I would think it would be just as effective?

Do try plain old fashioned cold pressed Olive oil!

I`ve had 3 babies, and not a single stretch mark.

You rub it in well, all over tummy, bottom, top of legs, and boobs, after showering/bathing. `

It`s also absolutely excellent for restoring elasticity in skin - on old people, when their skin gets thin and flaky.

Or coconut oil. Smells nice too.

Ack, wish I'd seen this a month ago as I threw out two of these (one pot and one lotion) that I never ended up using.

Sadly, however, it comes down to genes. If there was a cream that prevented stretch marks, everyone and their pregnant dog would be using it. It's still worth pampering yourself with body lotion - just don't feel bad if you use it and still get them.

Hi

Its my favourite too! Try Amazon uk! They have it on sale.

You can get it at many African shops.

I bought cocoa butter from this place.

It's not Palmer's but I would suspect, that it might be similar. The next time I'm there, I check if they have Palmer's and let you know.

i have seen palmer's cocoa butter in the african shops as well as queen helene products. yay- love that stuff. but in case, the coco oil in bottles works well too.

my mama told me just not to scratch your belly and make sure your man gives plenty of belly massages and your belly will be alright.

I have no idea if it is any good for pregnancy, but I love Palmers!

You can buy it on feel unique, free worldwide postage

Queens Helene's, that's what I got.

Great advice. I did pretty much the same, and no stretch marks with two pregnancies.

My routine was:

-oil massaged in after shower (I liked frei schwangerschaftsöl, and Burt's Bees Mama Bee body oil)

-once the oil soaks in, go over that with a rich body lotion (first pregnancy I used Palmer's, next time I used KissMyFace)

-at bedtime, massage in some Palmer's cocoa butter.

Yes, there was a big grease spot on my side of the bed. Even if the oils and lotions and butters don't ward off the stretch marks, it's still worth it to treat yourself to pampered skin.

Well, my sister and I had our children at the same times, and she - being "The Estèe Lauder" type scoffed at my Olive Oil, and insisted on using only "the best" lotion prescribed for pregnant tummies.

At the end of all the pregnancies, she called me to cry about her tummy ...... Of course, when shown her "Bushman-flap" of skin that resembled a deflated soccer ball, that now required cosmetic surgery to repair .... I could not stop laughing (yes, the typical cruel older sister) till I fell on the floor managing to gurgle out the last word "Told you SO didn`t I?!"

Won't Nutella work?

(OK, I'll get my coat.....)

Bio Oil is great too, if you can get it - it's also used for fading scar tissue. It's a nice post-shower ritual too, having it rubbed into your belly. Don't forget your hips, butt, thighs & chest as well.

I've heard that about genetics, but all we can do is try, right? My Mum is covered in stretch marks from pregnancy (she only had one), yet I don't have a single one (I had only one (successful) pregnancy also).

I think it will only work if it stays on long enough to soak in.

Is your sister an identical twin? ;p I maintain it comes down in large part to genes (weight gain and multiples affect it too). I've never seen any scientific study to suggest a cream/oil prevents stretch marks. I know many women who've used everything from olive oil to that orange Bio stuff and various other potions. Some got stretch marks, others didn't.

I had the PUPPP rash with horrendously itchy and irritated skin and still didn't get stretch marks (used diaper rash cream for the itchiness, which actually dried out the rash). I did get that weird tummy line of pigment, which faded afterwards.

I still say pamper up. The Palmers stuff is very nice and pregnancy is most definitely a time to look after yourself. Better still if your partner massages the lotion in..heaven!

Nutella works for everything. EVERYTHING. If you're interested, I created a yummy Nutella dessert recently and can pm you the recipe. =D

P.S. My recipe prevents cellulite. I plan to make millions.

You can get Bio Oil and Cocoa Butter from www.feelunique.com (free shipping to Switzerland).

I'd like to say that the olive oil really helps. And btw, I got my Palmer cocobutter with vitamin E in Watson.
